I'm a budding English teacher from the USA. This October 20, I will be in Seoul (Hongdae for the AREX) for a day-long layover on my way from Indonesia back to the USA. If anyone would like to practice their English for a bit while hanging out in Hongdae, please let me know. Coffee, walking around, having a meal, anything is fine with me, I have no agenda and will be just taking it easy and trying to see a bit of Hongdae. I'm not really looking for a regular language exchange right now, but if you are interested in an hour or two of in-person conversation, I'd be happy to meet--remember, every little bit helps!
A bit about me....
After a long career as a natural resource economist, I'm retiring into a new career as a part-time English teacher. Actually, I was already an English teacher for two years (1988-90) and now I'm going back where I started. I have a BA in English Lit and two graduate degrees in economics, so I'm happy to discuss your academic ambitions if you have any. Over the years, I've studied Latin, German, Bahasa Indonesia, and Spanish, but I wouldn't really trust me to teach any of those. As far as Korean, I've learned Hangul and maybe 100 words of Korean, but I've never had a chance to use it at all. I once helped teach a workshop in Tae-an, but most of my Korea-relevant experience is dancing to music videos on YouTube.
